What we do
End-to-end power engineering, from study to switch-on.
Utilities, developers and miners come to APD Global for high-voltage design, transmission tower design, 500 kV, grid connection and power system studies.
Lines, cables and REZ
330 kV and 500 kV line design, and the work behind Australia's first REZs.

BESS and grid connection
Independent engineer, SIPS and connection design for batteries that have to stay stable.
Explore →
GPS, NEM and WEM
15 GW+ of connection studies, system strength, GPS registration and model validation.

Waratah Super Battery - Independent Engineer
Appointed by EnergyCo and Transgrid on Australia's largest grid-scale battery: 1,400 MWh next to Munmorah, with a System Integrity Protection Scheme across 28 critical sites. APD reviewed primary, secondary and automation design, witnessed live tests, and kept the SIPS logic honest.
GIS substations
The whole building. Not just the plant.
Bunning Lake for Western Power. South Jerrabomberra for Essential Energy. Civil, structural, mechanical and electrical in one house - then the same model as a 3D twin, a VR review, and a scale model you can walk around.
On film
The work, in full.
Full films live here. Short cuts run natively on LinkedIn - follow the feed and the long-form lives side by side.
Quokkanaut
Launched from Northam Airport, Western Australia, then shown at IAC 2025 in Sydney.
IAC 2025 →Bunning Lake - model and twin
Physical scale model, then the 3D twin of the same GIS yard. Western Power. The whole building.

Paris Session 2026 · 23–28 August · Palais des Congrès
In the room
Eight papers at CIGRE Paris Session 2026.
APD engineers are presenting eight accepted papers - protection in IBR grids, UFLS in high-DER networks, digital substation cybersecurity, and AI-driven brownfield design. The kind of work that shapes what the industry does next.

How we work
The work that matters.
Substations, plant and secondary systems for the high-voltage grid.
Tower, foundation and line design for the corridors that carry the power.
The backbone voltage. HumeLink and the other 500 kV work sit here.
NEM and WEM applications, GPS, SIPS - generation and storage onto the network.
Dynamic and steady-state. The modelling that decides whether plant can connect.
Who we work with
The operator, the networks, carriers and industry.
APD Global works with AEMO, which operates on the networks, and with the major Australian and New Zealand utilities, carriers and industry.
Beside the work
In the cities we work in.
Official coach and player media polo.
Lucia Painter, a rising star in the AFLW, plays for the Eagles and is a member of the APD Global team.
The Eagles story →Channel 7, 2026 season.
A Channel 7 partnership for remaining 2026 AFL broadcasts. Separate from the club jersey partnerships.
The Drone Cam story →On the back of the jersey.
APD Global appears on the back of the men’s and women’s kits. Rola Badawiya plays for Glory Women and is a member of the APD Global team.
